FAQS

Questions about what it’s like to work together?

Here are some of the most common questions I get from individuals about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, contact me.

  • I provide online therapy anywhere in California, and in-person therapy at 61 Avenida De Orinda, Suite 110, Orinda, CA

  • Online therapy is the same as in person therapy, except from the comfort of your own home. If you’re familiar with zoom, it’s the same as using zoom. You will receive a link in your email, and clicking it will direct you to a page where we will meet virtually over the internet. The only requirements are that your computer or laptop have a camera and microphone, and that you have a private place to do the session from.

  • I currently offer in-person therapy in Orinda, CA, on Wednesdays.

  • I provide both individual and couples therapy. My individual therapy fee is 180 per 50-minute session, and my couples therapy fee is 200 per 50-minute session.

  • Our first appointment is time for us to get to know each other better. We will talk more about what you’re struggling with, explore your goals for therapy, talk about your history, and answer any questions you may have.

  • How long someone is in therapy is a personal choice. When shifting our relationship to ourselves, creating new belief systems, or changing long standing relationship dynamics, it can take time to root meaningful change. On average many of my clients are in therapy for 5-6 months, with some opting for more long term depth work, or more short term work lasting about 3 months. Again, length of therapy depends on what works for you, and what your goals are, and can be discussed at any point.

  • While I do not accept insurance, I provide a “super bill” at the beginning of every month. Many insurances will reimburse for a portion of therapeutic services if you submit a claim and a super bill. You can contact your insurance to see if they reimburse for psychotherapy, what percentage they reimburse, and if they require you work with an “in-network” provider to have psychotherapy covered by them.
