Anxiety and Depression

 

Sometimes we get lost in the woods, stuck in fear or darkness.

Both depression and anxiety can feel so lonely and hopeless, like your world has been reduced to emotional suffering with no way out. Anxiety and depression can deeply impact our sense of self, leading to feelings of being worthless, incompetent, or weak.

THERAPY FOR ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

Anxiety and depression are often the result of earlier trauma or relational trauma, such as feeling unloved or that love was conditional, feeling unseen or alone, or like the world and whether our needs would get met, was unpredictable or unlikely.

In therapy we can unpack the earlier unmet needs, and discover who we are today and how to get our needs met as adults.

We can learn practices that create a sense of safety, connection, and aliveness. Taking steps forward is difficult with depression and often scary with anxiety. I am sensitive to this and help people identify small actions aligned with their values that begin building a meaningful life they are engaged in.
